Our posh evening in new shiny shoes

After having spent the last couple of weeks in flip flops, changing between 2 t-shirts and 2 pants - we decided to have a chick big night out in BKK. The whole afternoon was spent on the Chatuchak weekend market looking for the right evening outfit - we wanted to look stunning. The expectations were on the top as we were standing in the elevator going up to the open air Bar on the 64 floor... But wonderful is short - we only had time to breath in a couple of the air conditioned air as a nice smiling lady came toward us telling us discretely that men were not allowed in with open shoes. Thomas flip flops were doomed. Shit. Sitting quite disappointed 3 minutes later on the side way outside the building a man came up to us - first after trying to get rid of him we understood that he wanted to tell us that we can buy shoes in the next door mini market. This was our LAST hope! After trying out every shoe they had we came to the conclusion that the beige plastic ones in size 41 (Thomas usually prefers wearing shoes in size 43)were the ones! The salesman felt so sorry for the poor European guy having to squeeze in his feet in the small shoes that he gave us a discount without us even asking for it - 80 instead of 120 Baht - what a bargain). So with carefully steps we once again reached the top of the State Tower. The same lady, with the same charming smile came toward us welcoming us to the Dome and gave us a nice paper bag for the flip flops... We were in!

here's the link - since you now know how to get in ;-)
